Sleeping Monk aproached me about making a home base and HQ for the crew so this site is what i came up with.

XXL MAG: J Dilla Tribute

This is a mock up I did for an issue of XXL hip hop mag around the time of the third aniversary of the death of hip hop legend James Yancey (J Dilla)
I used Photoshop as well as Illustrator to bring the piece together and used a well contrasting colour pallet to that which was contained within the original photo of the legend himself. The use of yellow/gold tones was an attempt to bring a bit of a royal feeling to the peice. It was made to give the impression to viewers who did not know who J Dilla was that this cover/issue/article is something to take notice of.

This is a short shout out to my boys at Well Dressed Vandals.
A new clothing company out of Sydney.
The boys have been plugging away for some time with theyre design skills and have finally put them to excellent use. Not to say that they weren’t at good use before, its just that now that they are excellent!
I grabbed one of the tee’s off them this week and have a few more reserved for when my pocket is a little fuller.
The shirts themselves are a heavy duty cotton blend with a super fine print on the front with a printed tag on the inside of the neck. More company’s need to do this! Im sick of scratching up the back of my neck with a tag that im only gonna cut off anyway.
Design wise these boys are in top form, with only a couple of prints on the run at the moment, they have much more planned with an online store available within they’re site that will be up in the not too distant future.
Definatly worth the look if you have a free second
